Worth the journey…
Peterborough has no shortage of bridal shops. What it doesn’t have is Jaynes.
Jaynes Bridalwear has been an independent boutique on Guildhall Street in Lincoln since 1981. We stock a hand-curated collection of designer gowns — Pronovias, Madi Lane, Stella York, Justin Alexander, Morilee, Martina Liana, and Calla Blanche among them — chosen not for volume but for quality, distinctiveness, and what they offer the right bride. These are not gowns you’ll find anywhere else in the East Midlands or East of England.
The appointment experience is what Peterborough brides most often remark on. Before you arrive, your stylist will have spoken with you — your brief, your venue, your vision — and will have a curated selection of gowns already waiting. You’re not starting from scratch on arrival. The appointment has been built around you before you walk through the door.
Standard appointments are 90 minutes. Our VIP experience runs to two hours — a glass of something sparkling on arrival for you and your guests, a dedicated stylist, and a gift bag when you find your dress.
Our collection runs from UK 6 to UK 32. We also carry a designer sample sale with gowns, available to take home the same day — well worth asking about if your timeline is shorter or you’ve found something you love at exceptional value.
The drive from Peterborough to Lincoln along the A15 is one of the prettier routes in the region — through the Fens and up into Lincolnshire. Combine your appointment with a day exploring the Cathedral Quarter and you’ve made a proper occasion of it.
Brides from Peterborough and Cambridgeshire have found their gowns with us ahead of weddings at Stapleford Park, Doddington Hall, and venues throughout Lincolnshire and the Fens. If you’re marrying anywhere between Peterborough and Lincoln, we’d love to be involved.
Take the A15 northbound from Peterborough — it runs directly into Lincoln city centre, a drive of around 55 minutes. Park on Tentercroft Street (NCP or Waitrose) and Guildhall Street is a five-minute walk.
Reserve a private two-hour appointment. The kettle is on, something sparkling is chilling, and there is a dress with your name on it.
